Young and restless Democratic candidates for 2016
The players already are moving into position for the June 2016 primary election. The RSF Democratic Club wants to inform its members and to play a part in helping to elect Democrats all over San Diego County.
At our May 14 monthly meeting, we will look carefully at two important local contests and at several dynamic young Democrats seeking election. Win or lose, these young people are the future face of the Democratic Party in San Diego County.
San Diego City Council, District 3: Todd Gloria will be termed out. Come meet first-time candidates Anthony Bernal and Chris Ward. Anthony is on Todd Gloria’s staff. Chris, San Diego Democratic Party volunteer of the year, is chief of staff for Senator Marty Block.
The recent One Paseo vote shows the importance of the San Diego City Council for North County residents, no matter where they live and vote.
San Diego City Attorney: Jan Goldsmith will be termed out. Come meet first-time candidates Gil Cabrera, Rafael Castellanos, and Mara Elliott. Gil has served on the San Diego Ethics Commission. Rafael, who visited our April meeting, serves on the San Diego Port Commission. Mara is Chief Deputy City Attorney.
Meetings of the Rancho Santa Fe Democratic Club always attract elected officials, political candidates, political activists, and political junkies. Friendly atmosphere. Great snacks. Join us. Bring a friend. All North County welcome.
